“I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me.”
Why Be Catholic
Occasionally we at REGINA will get an email in response to one of our weekly mailings, with the question “I don’t know if I am a Catholic anymore?” or “Why be Catholic?” These questions sometimes result one of our series of articles That’s My Money, Your Excellency or Has The Catholic Church Been “Alinskied”? Part One, Part Two, or Part Three!
Is there a simple answer to their questions? Yes, I think there is. The goal of one’s life should be to get to Heaven. If someone is a seeker of “The Truth” one will find it in the Catholic Church. That simple. In this article, I will present what I believe happened to the Catholic Church (the reasons people give for leaving the Church), along with how and why the Truth matters.
Someone not very well catechized will ask “What about all the abuse that is happening or has happened because the Church?” This person may go back as far as Constantine and the Council of Nicaea of 325 (they say this is when the Catholic Church started), the Nights Templar, The Inquisition of the 12th century, selling indulgences of the 15th century, and/or the homosexuality of the current lavender mafia.
All these are explainable, except the last. Who can really explain why a man ordained as priest, then as a priest, forgets his vow of chastity (or disregards his vow), sins against the commandments of God while preaching from the pulpit, destroys peoples lives for his own sinful pleasures, while daring to wear the purple, red, or white of the holy saints and martyrs? We know that the love of money, power, corruption, and homosexuality are all the work of the devil.
Evilness has been around since Cain. Homosexuality in the Catholic priesthood is known to have been around for a long time as both Saint Peter Damian in the 11th century and Anselm of Canterbury in the 12th century wrote on the topic (see references below). And forget about the Oath against Modernism many of the older priests, Bishops, and Cardinals took when they were young priests. Easy to disregard an oath when a prelate does not believe in sin!
A Church Militant headline of 2017 showed that As much as half of priests and bishops are homosexual. Can that be true? Father Paul Sullins, in an 2018 article titled “Is Catholic Clergy Sex Abuse Related to Homosexual Priests?” stated “In the 1950s, about 3% of priests were of a homosexual orientation, by their own reports. By the 1980s, that had risen to over 16%. So we have sort of a fivefold increase in the percentage of priests who are homosexual, in a pretty straight line from the 1950s through the 1980s.”
Bishops and cardinals have been complicit in the sin against the sixth commandment, and they don’t seem to care, in my opinion.
Father Kevin M. Cusik writes in an article “A Leaven In The World… Where The Clergy’s Moral Failings Began” that “The Church exists to preach Christ and Truth: These two things always go together; it is impossible to have the one without the other. Truth involves both what we believe and how we live: faith and morals. About this there can be no compromise whatsoever.
The “despised” and “abased” among priests, bishops, and cardinals caught up in the homosexual and pedophilia crisis today can trace their crimes all the way back to the first moment they compromised the moral teaching of the Church in word or action.”
Money and Corruption
I AM THE LORD THY GOD: THOU SHALT NOT HAVE STRANGE GODS BEFORE ME
Stephen Brady, founder and president of activist group Roman Catholic Faithful has for years fought Church corruption. Brady, in an interview at Church Militant stated “the Church as having become “a billion-dollar money laundering operation,” noting that financial corruption has accompanied sexual sin.”
Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò tells us in a 2020 interview at Lifesite News that “How can we imagine that the murky events of Saint Gallen will become clear, when it was there that the conspirators organized the election of Bergoglio? And how can we believe that the Church will purify herself of the corruption and vice of her clerics and prelates, when they are the ones who have taken power and who are promoted to the highest levels in a web of complicity between heretics, perverts, and traitors?“
Michael Hichborn at the Lepanto Institute has exposed the corruption of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) for years (see our article here). We at REGINA have published articles about money and corruption in the Church (here, here, here).
Christine Niles tells us in a March 2021 article that disgraced Cardinal Wuerl is getting $2 million a year from the D.C. Diocese. Phil Lawler tells us also in a March 2021 article that Nighty night Tobin gets promoted to the Congregation of Bishops, a very esteemed post. It seems to never end.
I would suggest that you go to complicitclergy.com often to review what bishops have been exposed, and who can be exposed. Help rid our house of the likes of Cupich, Tobin, Wilton, Farrell, Dolan, and Vigneron, among others. The likes of McCarrick and Wuerl are gone. More need to go!
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
Saint Augustine tells us that God is truth. “Behold and see, if thou canst, O soul pressed down by the corruptible body, and weighed down by earthly thoughts, many and various; behold and see, if thou canst, that God is truth. For it is written that “God is light;” not in such way as these eyes see, but in such way as the heart sees, when it is said, He is truth.”
Cardinal Burke, Bishop Schneider, along with several other bishops in 2019 issued a public declaration of truths of faith to help remedy confusion in the Church today. Lifesite News presented the declaration here. (the pdf: Declaration_Truths_Errors)
Carlos Caso-Rosendi, in an article found on the Lepanto Institute titled The Screwletter Tapes, reflects that “We do not have to play the devil’s game. He has loaded the deck with false cards, he seems to be winning but there is not even the most remote chance that he will defeat Christ and completely obliterate the Church. We can use our time wisely by reminding others of our hope. Declaring Christ to the world is not “proselytism” but it is God’s will. We are under orders to bring the light and life of the Gospel to a dying world.
Be a sign of union. Stay away from contentious groups, grow in the mind of Christ and be in union with Him. Pray, fast, sacrifice but never worry about how this age will end because we have been assured of God’s triumph.
This is what many of the corrupt prelates have forgotten:
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, Who was conceived by
the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into Hell; the third day He arose again from the dead;
He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God
the Father Almighty, from thence He shall come
to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Holy Catholic Church,
the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.
What Can Be Done
“Who is going to save our Church? Do not look to the priests. Do not look to the bishops. It’s up to you, the laity, to remind our priests to be priests and our bishops to be bishops.”
– Archbishop Fulton Sheen
I believe it is up to the laity to help clean our house.
Archbishop Viganò writes in the previously quoted Lifesite article: “We must understand that the ecclesial crisis was caused by having wanted to remove the crown from the Church’s King, Our Lord: He must return to reign not only in our hearts and families but also in civil society and most of all in the Church. Oportet illum regnare. And along with the King of Kings, Our Lady must also reign, the Queen and Mother of the Church, which has culpably disobeyed her by not consecrating Russia to Her Immaculate Heart. This is my most sincere wish, to which I ask all people of good will to unite themselves.”
Father Richard Cipolla, during a sermon at the Solemn Mass of Thanksgiving for the Canonization of John Henry Newman, October 9, 2019, stated, “Newman’s thesis was that the faithful, that is you who sit in these pews and who live your life in the world of family, friends, work, ordinary life, are a real and important part of that unfolding of truth that we call the development of doctrine in the Church.”
Father Cusick wrote in his Wanderer article “We must work and pray that moral corruption, in teaching and in conduct, no longer taints and jeopardizes salvation of souls, diffusing itself and spreading like an infection to imperil the Body of Christ.”
Bishop Athanasius Schneider proposed a to-do list as reported at Lifesite News by John-Henry Westin in August 2018 to help clean up the Church, starting at the top of the Church. It was ignored.
This Is “Why Be Catholic”
I recommend reading our article, “Be Like Athanasius!” Saint Athanasius was expelled 5 times by corrupt bishops. He never gave up the faith.
We at REGINA recommend finding a faithful parish, with faithful priests, hopefully a parish that celebrates the traditional Latin mass. Father Cipolla, in his Saint John Henry Newman sermon expressed: “How wonderful it is that we come here to thank God for his Catholic witness within the Church and within the world. And how wonderful it is that we do so within this liturgical celebration of that same Traditional Roman Mass that he celebrated, knew and loved, this Mass that is the antidote to the poison of secularism and relativism that surrounds us, this Mass that is the heart of Tradition and that is the future of the Catholic Church.”
Additionally, entrusting yourself and your family under Mother Mary’s protection and Saint Michael the Archangel. We at REGINA have.
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that
anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help
or sought your intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother;
to you do I come,
before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in your mercy hear and answer me.
Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke, Cardinal Janis Pujats, Archbishop emeritus of Riga, Tomash Peta, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Saint Mary in Astana, Jan Pawel Lenga, Archbishop-Bishop emeritus of Karaganda and Athanasius Schneider, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Saint Mary in Astana in their Declaration of Truths suggested Mary’s protection: “The Cardinals and Bishops who sign this “Declaration of the truths” entrust it to the Immaculate Heart of the Mother of God under the invocation “Salus populi Romani” (“Salvation of the Roman People”), considering the privileged spiritual meaning which this icon has for the Roman Church. May the entire Catholic Church, under the protection of the Immaculate Virgin and Mother of God, “fight intrepidly the fight of the Faith, persist firmly in the doctrine of the Apostles and proceed safely amidst the storms of the world until she reaches the heavenly city.”
We at REGINA recommend following Archbishop Viganò, who offers closing advice in an interview here: “Let us not allow ourselves to be seduced by the apparent inevitability of evil: Satan is the eternal defeated one, whether he seeks to destroy the Church of Christ – an unshakeable rock in the Savior’s own words – or rages against what remains of the human consortium. And if there really is to be a Great Reset of our society, it will be accomplished only with repentance for the public sins of nations, with a new Renaissance of Christianity, with a return to the Law of God. Fiat voluntas tua, we recite in the Our Father: may this be our agenda, following the example of the Most Holy Virgin, Our Lady and Queen, who first trampled the asp and the dragon and crushed the head of the lion and the dragon.”
And further Archbishop Viganò offers closing advice in an article here: “Let us pray, therefore — let us pray with faith to the Most Holy Virgin, Queen of Victories and Help of Christians, that she may be our general in this epochal battle. May the glorious archangel Michael be at her side, he who casts into Hell Satan and the other evil spirits qui ad perditionem animarum pervagantur in mundo.”
Remember, at the end of this world, when the goats and sheep are separated (Matthew 25:31-46), everyone will bend their knee to God Almighty. All the witches and satanists, all the corrupt prelates, all the corrupt politicians, all the baby killers et al who have not confessed their sin and are contrite before dying, will be eternally separated from God. Prelates come and go. Politicians come and go. Even the head of our beloved Church will come and GO!
Learn and embrace your faith. Our Catholic faith will guide you to your primary goal.
Ignore those who try to lead you astray.
Don’t be that goat!
Will you live a good faithful life, or will you choose the life of the flesh and the ruin of your soul.
Be Catholic! Choose heaven.
Be that sheep!

Prayer to Saint Michael
Sáncte Míchael Archángele, defénde nos in proélio, cóntra nequítiam et insídias diáboli ésto præsídium. Ímperet ílli Déus, súpplices deprecámur: tuque, prínceps milítiæ cæléstis, Sátanam aliósque spíritus malígnos, qui ad perditiónem animárum pervagántur in múndo, divína virtúte, in inférnum detrúde. Ámen.
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen
